The aim of this ECT* workshop is to foster interactions and the exchange of ideas among experimentalists and theorists in order to identify decisive experiments as well as needed theoretical input and advances. We have dedicated the workshop to focus on four topics: ground state properties and density functional theory, nucleonic superfluidity/superconductivity, structure of nuclei at the extremes of isospin, and nuclei as laboratories for fundamental symmetries.
Our plan with topics and speakers is attached below. All talks will be 30+15min with ample time for informal small-group discussions and organized discussion sessions in the stimulating atmosphere of the Villa Tambosi. We also expect a substantial participation from students of the 2007 ECT* Doctoral Training Program on "Nuclear Structure and Reactions".
