A special poster session for students will take place during delegate registration on Sunday, September 28th. The student category includes: a student registered for a Ph.D. or diploma in accelerator physics or engineering; a Post Doctoral Fellow in accelerator physics or engineering; or a trainee accelerator physicist or engineer in the educational phase of their professional career. All students attending the conference are encouraged to present their work in this session.

Posters should be mounted after 16:00 on Sunday, September 28 and manned from 17:00 to 19:00. In accordance with the guidelines for publication of contributions, these posters must also be displayed during the regular poster sessions.

The LINAC08 Prizes Committee will judge the work of the candidates during the special poster session. Prizes and Awards for Students will be announced later in the week. Prizes will be awarded based on the quality of both the scientific work and the poster, the professionalism of the interaction with the judges at the poster, and the promise for the future.

1st Prize
The winner will receive a cash prize of $1000 and will have the opportunity to give a twenty minute oral presentation during the final session of LINAC08.

2nd and 3rd Prizes
Each winner will receive a cash prize of $500.

How to Participate and Apply for Financial Support
Candidates need to have an invitation to attend the conference and a JACoW profile and accompanying account so that they can apply using the registration form on the LINAC08 SPMS Web site.

If you have not received a formal invitation to attend the conference, please contact the LINAC08 Conference Coordinator stating your name, affiliation, and name of your supervisor or group leader.

**To be considered for financial support, you must answer the questions at the foot of the registration form. In addition, a recommendation letter from your supervisor or group leader must be sent to linac08@triumf.ca by Tuesday, July 1, 2008.**

Successful applicants will be notified on July 15, 2008.
