International Conference on Trapped Charged
Particles and Fundamental Physics
This is the fourth conference on trapped charged particles
and
fundamental physics, following the successful
conferences at
Lysekil,
Sweden (1994), Asilomar (1998)
and Wildbad
Kreuth (2002).
It is organized by TRIUMF, Canada's National Laboratory for
Particle and Nuclear Physics in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The conference will be held at the Tigh-Na-Mara
Resort
located near Parksville, on Vancouver Island in
beautiful
British
Columbia, Canada.
The conference site is located right at the sandy beaches of
the
East coast of Vancouver Island. The surroundings
invite
swimming, hiking, biking, ocean kayaking or strolling
along the
sandy beaches.
The conference will start on the evening of Sunday
September
3rd, and run to the afternoon of Friday
September 8th.
An optional
laboratory tour of TRIUMF is
planned
for Saturday
September 9th.
Transportation from
Tigh-Na-Mara to TRIUMF
can be arranged for
the tour.
The conference will focus on recent important topics and
highlights in the field of
trapped charged particles, and will
address in particular the
following scientific fields:
Fundamental Interactions and Symmetries |
QED Effects |
Quantum State Manipulation and Quantum Information |
Precision Spectroscopy and Frequency Standards |
Storage Ring Physics |
Highly Charged Ions in Traps |
Traps for Radioactive Isotopes |
Plasmas and Collective Behaviour |
Anti-Hydrogen |
The conference will consist of invited and contributed talks and
a
poster session.
