Local Transit Options |
|
The University of British Columbia places a strong emphasis on "Sustainability". As part of that ethos it has created an environment that promotes travel on public transit, and that is somewhat unfriendly to the private automobile. Generally, parking is scarce and expensive; and whether your accomodation is on-campus or off-campus you should consider the advisability of renting a car.
The UBC bus loop serves many destinations across Vancouver, but for local destinations including "Upper 10th Ave" and downtown, the #99 and #17 routes offer frequent service. The #17 is a slow bus that goes directly downtown. The #99 is an express bus with a stop at 10th & Sasamat, and it requires a transfer at Broadway & Granville to visit downtown.
