TRIUMF - Booking a Tour

Tours of TRIUMF are held throughout the year, free of charge. You will begin your tour in the lobby where there are information panels and models. The guide will begin by giving a general description of the history and operation of TRIUMF. Afterwards the guide(s) will walk you through part of the experimental building. You will not see the cyclotron itself; it is completely surrounded by huge concrete blocks because it emits radiation in its immediate vicinity while in use. You will see several experimental areas, the central control room, etc. We cannot tell you everything about our facility during the tour (not enough time) but the guides are prepared to answer questions throughout the tour.

There are two tour periods during each year:

September 1 - May 31: Tours are on Wednesdays and Fridays at 1:00 pm.

June 1 - August 31: Tours are Monday to Friday at 11:00am and 2:00pm.
