Around TRIUMF - Vancouver and British Columbia

TRIUMF is located on the campus of the University of British Columbia which is only about 30 minutes from the downtown city centre of Vancouver on the west coast of British Columbia, Canada. The university is situated in a beautiful setting between the Pacific Ocean and the Pacific Spirit Park. These surrounding offer endless opportunities to explore the forested trails, spend the day golfing, try sailing at the beach, learn about First Nations culture, take in a performance at the Chan Centre, or just sit back and enjoy the views. Since we are located so close to the University, there are many things to do that are within walking distance of the laboratory, including:

Vancouver is nestled in between the beautiful coastal mountains and the Pacific Ocean, making it a wonderful place for recreation, sightseeing and relaxing. Many of the activities that Vancouver has to offer can be enjoyed year round. The city is full of parks  and golf courses and has three local mountains that provide excellent skiing/snowboarding in the winter. It is renowned for the amazing forests, spectacular beaches, restaurants, shopping and many other wonderful attractions.
