[edit] ELSSI at TRIUMF

Go to https://elssi.triumf.ca and make your you identify yourself with your grid certificate (the one that is registered with the ATLAS VO).

Select the CURRENT version of ELSSI.

From the menu pick what you want; I currently use "data10_7TeV" - "TRIUMF" - "Physics Tag" Pick a collection; I like to take the latest MinBias e.g. data10_7TeV_physics_MinBias_f243_m440_READ and select all runs available, currently just 152878 for that collection. Press "add selection" and then "continue to event selection".

On the "create query" tab under "selection criteria", I pick the "Physics Attributes" tab. ("Temporal cut" and "Streams" are basically covered by the earlier choices but can be extended here; "Data Quality" would be great but with the current set of TAGs available is too constraining and you end up with no events if you try to cut on it, "Triggers" would be very useful but again doesn't seem to work as expected or isn't implemented yet).

Under "Muons" I pick "NLooseMuon", change "equals" to "greater than" and put "0" in the box, so I get NLooseMuon>0.

To test the logic, I pick a second attribute, under "Jets" I require "SumET" "greater than" "5000" (it uses MeV as default units, so 5 GeV is not a very restrictive cut).

Select the "Perform query" tab. Under "Count" select "Count selected events". If it seems like a lot, hit "back", go back to "Review Query", change "5000" to "120000" in the SumET constraint, hit "Refresh query", go back to "Perform query" and "Count" again (this gets it down under 10000 events for me, which seems reasonable for a test).

Hit "Back" again, and select the "Retrieve Event Collection" tab. Enter your email address in the box, and then hit "Retrieve" under "Retrieve without skimming" (you don't need to select attributes because the default is to select all of them, which is fine). If you are impatient, you can follow the "status of the extraction job" link and keep hitting "try later" for a few minutes, otherwise just wait for the e-mail (it comes from Julius Hrivnac).

In a few minutes the job will finish and you can retrieve your TAG file by clicking on the link. You can look at it with ROOT at that point or else use it to run Athena on your selected events.
