[edit] Addresses and access
We are using three CAEN SY1527LC HV mainframes. They can be accessed by:
- telnet tighv00.triumf.ca 1527
- telnet tighv01.triumf.ca 1527
- telnet tighv02.triumf.ca 1527
The telnet interface is very straightforward. There are only a few "gotchas".
- Many of the control keys -- like <PgUp>, <Esc>, <Bksp>, etc -- either don't work, or do very bad things. Avoid them.
- The <Tab> key is kind of like an escape key. If you start typing something wrong, hit <Tab> to get out of it.
- The arrow keys and the <Enter> key will accept whatever changes you made to a field. The <Tab> key cancels it.
- The <Bksp> key doesn't do anything. Use <Ctrl-H> instead.
- Don't forget the 1527 at the end of the telnet command.
- On the 48 channel supplies there are a lot of wierdnesses.
- Banks of 8 supplies at a time can be turned off or on. Individual channels cannot.
- The individual channel voltages must be set within some percentages (lower and upper bounds) of the Primary voltage. If they are set wrong you may get an error condition reported in the Status column. Or, you may not. Double-check the readback voltage to make sure you are actually applying what you think you want to apply.
Check the E-log or Current TIGRESS Configuration for the latest configuration. Also, check the crystal database for operating voltages
